Why you need a PDFM

Aside from the fact that Modern Test PDFM system can literally double productivity, government specifications can require a Flowmeter. For example, consider the TM 9-2320-289-34 , 36A12-1A-2082-2 , and TM 2320-34/4 specifications.

Try finding even a used PDFM for this purpose. They just are not there. New PDFMs are not being made either (except for here at Modern Test Equipment). Plus burrettes are hard to read and their results have to be recorded manually.

PDFMs are especially advatageous when calibrating small pumps at low RPMs. For example, take a four port diesel pump that puts out 19CC/500 Strokes at 50 RPM. It will take a long, long time to measure the flow using burrettes. Now imagine you are having problems with the pump, and you have to fill the burrettes over and over again.

With Modern Test Equipment method however, this isn't a problem. You'll get statistically valid results in seconds. Our methodology works equally with large diesel pumps too. The Model 1200 PDFM has a large volume measuring head and can easily handle pump flows up to 170cc/500 Strokes!

Quite a few deisel pumps and heads are now being made out of the country yet need to be calibrated here in the US. These pumps and heads are notorious for failing right out of the box. With the Modern Test Equipment methodology, you can test a lot of heads and diesel pumps fast to sort the good from the bad.
